Forgive me, I just looked at the back of this album cover and thought it was the cast to Reno 911. Decked out in gold and with the various sneers and stares of glam rockers of the past, the Sirens are pure glam rock for the new millennium. But there is nothing to get your underpants in a twist over, especially judging by “Hellraiser” and the cliché “1234 Rock and Roll” that oozes tight black leather trousers. Think of a cross between Heart and the New York Dolls and songs such as “High School” come to some semblance of life. Too often it’s kitsch, though, as “Rock & Roll Preacher” resembles a song that was cut from Grease or The Rocky Horror Picture Show. Another example of this is “Wig Wam Bam”, which is probably the one durable ditty. Ziggy Stardust seems to be a staple here, as the band covers “Rock N Roll Suicide” following a decent “Tumble With Me”.
