You’d think that maybe, having been born in Brazil, the London-based Tambourines wouldn’t sound exactly like your typical Britpop outfit. But if their Sally O’Gannon EP is any indication, that is exactly what they sound like. But does that have to be such a bad thing? So what if the Tambourines sound a lot like a lot of the British bands from ten years ago? And so what if you’ll never be able to listen to them without thinking about Oasis or the Charlatans? If the songs are good, the songs are good—and with the big fat fuzzy chords of “Come Together” and the Gallagherian sing-along chorus of the title-track, the Tambourines’ songs are just that. Besides which, the EP is only three songs long; lord knows it’s worth spending ten minutes on the Tambourines.
