Doctor Who: The Complete Third Series
Even though Doctor Who has never been as ideologically sophisticated as the Star Trek franchise, as the new millennium accelerates and the specter of war continues to haunt the entire world, the liberal attitude of the Doctor seems far more palatable than the militarism of Captain Kirk.

Absolutely Fabulous: White Box
White Box pushes the limits in every way, and even though Patsy and Edina not only smoke and drink, but now hit children, you still can't help but love them.

The Universe: The Complete Season One
The thing I enjoyed most about this alarmist and sensationalistic, but still very informative, series is how each episode, regardless of the ostensible topic, wastes very little time either devolving into doomsday scenarios, or highlighting the violent tendencies of heavenly bodies.

The Day of the Triffids
This is a quick romp of macho apocalyptic fantasy that I thoroughly enjoyed; planes go down, trains crash, and Jeanette Scott is suddenly available.

The Best Of The Colbert Report
The “Best of” collection is just too flimsy to really earn the title of “must-have” even for die-hard fans, who will be happier finding their fix online.

C.S.I. Miami: The Fifth Season
By possessing a superior moral stand and a precise sense for justice, and by never having to justify his actions to anybody, Horatio is the perfect embodiment of the quintessential Old West crime fighter.

Tales of Tomorrow: Collection Three - The 2nd Season Shows
This show's seriousness can be seen by its attempt to involve professional science fiction writers (such as Theodore Sturgeon) and adapt contemporary SF stories, as well as reaching back to works of H.G. Wells, Jules Verne and Mary Shelley.

Scrubs: The Complete Sixth Season
Despite an unnecessary return to J.D. and Elliott's relationship, Season Six still holds plenty of the Scrubs we look forward to.
Charmed: The Final Season: (Season 8)
In its final season Charmed, which had consistently wrung life out of otherwise mundane material, lost sight of exactly what it was that kept the moving parts interesting.

Christmas Time In South Park
This little collection, a compilation of seven Christmas episodes from the years 1997-2004, is a pretty great one-disc example of both the deeply disgusting depths and the insightful heights South Park manages to reach.

Twin Peaks: The Definitive Gold Box Edition
With crisp performances throughout (especially from Kyle MacLachlan, in a role he was born to play), unforgettable settings and cinematography, and inventive, uncompromising scripts from episode to episode, Twin Peaks makes for uncommonly rewarding repeat viewings.
Family Ties: The Second Season
Family Ties was like the little show that could. Without much comedic star power, it succeeded against the odds.
Family Ties: The Complete First Season
The writing and delivery on Family Ties are strongest when the main characters were in conflict with each other, especially when Alex and Mallory go head to head.

Extras: The Complete Second Season
Extras is filled with celebrity cameos, pratfalls, bawdy jokes, shameless mugging, and larger than life idiots.

Everybody Hates Chris: The Second Season
Everybody hates stupidly predictable sitcoms, which is why anybody paying attention should simply love Everybody Hates Chris.

Studio 60 Live on the Sunset Strip: The Complete Series
Despite its purported faults (critics were divided), Studio 60 Live on the Sunset Strip holds up well on DVD, as viewers can quickly proceed to the next episode without losing momentum, without losing the smart, subtextual thread of the prior episode.
Jonathan Creek: Season Two
Though Season Two isn't quite as strong as its first, Jonathan Creek still carries on the tradition of not only being one of Britain's most intricate crime dramas, but also its funniest.

Rick and Steve: The Happiest Gay Couple in All the World: The Complete First Season
The show reasserts the dominant logic of recent lesbian and gay politics that idealizes hetero-style domesticity.

Medium: The Third Season
The most interesting thing about Alison Dubois isn’t that she can talk to dead people. It’s how the people around her deal with it.
