After traversing the globe for the first half of 2010—including Croatia, Ireland, and Jamaica—Grammy Award-winning humanitarian Maya Azucena is finishing up her third studio effort Cry Love, slated for release in early 2011. She recently previewed a selection of songs from her forthcoming album for a sold-out audience at the Blue Note in NYC.

Maya Azucena’s next appearance will be a special acoustic set on 11 September at Joe’s Pub In New York City. The performance will be streamed live and broadcast on PeaceDay TV as a special Preview Show for the 2010 PeaceDay Global Broadcast, which begins 17 September and runs through 21 September, the official International Day of Peace.

Azucena will also share the stage with L.A.-based pop-soul duo, JohnnySwim. The Joe’s Pub show marks the official release of 5-8, JohnnySwim’s new EP. Stay tuned for a Now Hear This! feature about JohnnySwim on PopMatters in the next couple of months.
