Cheyenne Marie Mize - "Friend" Video (PopMatters Premiere)

by PopMatters Staff

21 September 2010

October sees this beguiling singer who has worked with Bonnie “Prince” Billy and Ben Sollee take the spotlight with her debut album Before Lately.

Cheyenne Marie Mize may seem for all intents and purposes to be a newcomer, but she’s been working with a number of indie singer-songwriters for the past few years—Bonnie “Prince” Billy and Ben Sollee mainly. Recently Mize and Will Oldham recorded a set of 19th century parlor music called Among the Gold that is available via free download at bandcamp.com. Mize has also been touring of late with Sollee on his Dear Companion dates. October sees the beguiling singer take the spotlight with her debut album Before Lately, releasing 12 October via sonaBLAST! Records. Today we present the premiere of her video for “Friend” along with a bonus MP3 of “Best”.
