Those Dancing Days - "Reaching Forward" MP3 (PopMatters Premiere)

by PopMatters Staff

1 March 2011

"Reaching Forward" comes barreling out of the gate as an adrenalin soaked anthem and a statement of purpose for the Swedish band's sophomore record.

Sweden’s all-female Those Dancing Days named themselves after a Led Zeppelin song and there’s something of that ferocity present right from the get-go on the group’s new album Daydreams and Nightmares. “Reaching Forward” comes barreling out of the gate as an adrenalin soaked anthem and a statement of purpose for their sophomore record. Those Dancing Days has also fine-tuned their sound as a result of the hard work touring they’ve done over the past few years. Lisa Pyk Wirström says, “all the live touring has really made an impact. When you stand on stage, you really want to max out. Now we have maxed out in the studio as well.” Daydreams and Nightmares is out today via Wichita Recordings.
