DJ Wool feat Spoek Mathambo - "Kult Leader" (video)

by Timothy Gabriele

31 March 2011

“B is for Boss”, Spoek Mathambo says, bragging is of his following, but this highly distubring video depicts a loner not a leader. The would-be martyr of the narrative looks like he copped his haircut from Jeffrey Combs’s character in The Frighteners and dresses like Ian Curtis if he was a devout Mormon. The hook, on the other hand, is catchy as hell, though it’s certainly nothing that couldn’t have been put out 15 years or so ago.
