This September 18th, Freakwater’s Catherine Irwin is releasing her second solo album and it’s her first solo work in a decade. Little Heater was recorded in Woodstock, NY with Tara Jane ONeil (Rodan, Ida) handling the production duties. Meanwhile Bonnie ‘Prince’ Billy provides guest vocals on “Mockingbird”, which we offer for download below and member of Ida join in on vox and instruments.

Irwin explains, “Will Oldham and I did the vocals. I love singing with Will. His vocal range goes though the roof. He is a perfectionist with an amazing ability to recognize when the thing that has just occurred spontaneously is really the perfect thing.”
