Martin Rossiter (Gene) - "Drop Anchor" (video / stream)

by PopMatters Staff

20 November 2012

Gene frontman, Martin Rossiter, is stepping forth with a new solo album The Defenestration of St Martin that releases on November 26.

Remember Gene… a fine melodic Britpop band with a Smiths feel to them? They are sadly missed and their career was far too short. Now Gene frontman, Martin Rossiter, is stepping forth with a new solo album The Defenestration of St Martin that releases on November 26. His exquisite voice is in fine form on the gorgeous “Drop Anchor”, a subtle and tender new ballad.

Editor’s Note: We ran this post back in October, but now Rossiter has just released the video for this fine tune. Stay tuned for next week when you’ll be able to pick up his new LP, The Defenestration of St Martin.
