Crushed Out – “Temper Tantrum” / “Want to Give” (videos) (PopMatters Premiere)

Crushed Out is a new band channeling the raw energy of early rock ‘n’ roll and garage rock with a power duo set-up of guitar and drums. The White Stripes anyone? But Crushed Out are no mere followers or copycats of Jack White, as they bring a bit of surf guitar and countryesque blues into the mix. Frank Hoier and Moselle Spiller form the enigmatic duo wherein Frank sports a completely unique guitar sound that has caught the notice of Jon Spencer, while Moselle shows the range of her artistic abilities by designing the group’s artwork, merch, and videos.

Crushed Out recently played a session for Do317.com in Indianapolis, where they roared through two of their tunes, “Temper Tantrum” and “Want to Give”. Meanwhile the band’s debut, Want to Give released November 6th via their Cool Clear Water imprint.
