The Stargazer Lilies - "How We Lost" (video) (Premiere)

by PopMatters Staff

7 October 2013

If you're in need of some serious new dream pop -- and who isn't -- you can scarcely do better than the Stargazer Lilies.

Guitarist/drummer/bassist/producer John Cep and singer/bassist Kim Field have left their previous band of 10 years, Soundpool, and forged out on their own to get a bit more experimental. The Stargazer Lilies possess a truly widescreen, cinematic sound with crescendoes that build cascading waves of sound enveloping your whole body. The music is a bit darker than standard dream pop fare, but that only makes it that much more mesmerizing. Today, we bring you the premiere of “How We Lost” and invite you to enter the Stargazer Lilies’ dreamscape. Stunning. The band’s full album will be releasing 22 October via Graveface Records. Pre-order it here.
