The Far Out Monster Disco Orchestra - "Dead Dance (Mark E Remix)" (audio) (Premiere)

by Brice Ezell

9 June 2014

PopMatters has the exclusive stream of the Mark E remix of the Far Out Monster Disco Orchestra's "Dead Dance", a tune tied to one of the most important developments in Brazilian disco music.

In light of the recent passing of Jose Roberto Bertrami, one of the key instigators of the Far Out Monster Disco Orchestra and one of Brazil’s most prominent arrangers, the folks at Far Out Recordings have taken to compiling a two-disc tribute to this most innovative of groups. The Orchestra, responsible for bringing a potent injection of disco into the Brazilian music scene, gets a fine tribute on this two-disc release. The first disc contains numbers by several key players in both Brazilian music and the Orchestra itself, while the second disc includes remixes from multiple artists. Mark E took the helm on the Orchestra’s “Dead Dance”.

Says remixer Mark E of his take on the song, “It’s always a pleasure working with the good folk at Far Out and to get involved with such a great original. I jumped at the opportunity of having a bash, and was really happy with the final outcome.”

The double CD will see its release on June 9th.
