You know the new version of William Shakespeare's Macbeth, starring Michael Fassbender and Marion Cotillard, is going to be intense when it calls upon the music of Swans for its new trailer.

William Shakespeare’s Macbeth has a long history of bleak adaptations, including the 1971 film version, directed by Roman Polanski. Up-and-coming director Justin Kurzel, who is also tapped to direct the Assassin’s Creed movie, has helmed up a new cinematic edition of “the Scottish play”, with Michael Fassbender as the titular bloodthirsty ruler and Marion Cotillard as the enigmatic Lady Macbeth.

The first teaser for Macbeth was released today, and based on the grimy, morose visuals and the usage of the terror-inducing Swans track “Lunacy”, this is going to be one hell of a time at the movies.

Macbeth is out on 2 October in the United Kingdom.
