DEMAR - "Wild Ride" (audio) (premiere)

DEMAR's emotionally-charged electropop song with soaring vocals reflects on a "sometimes incredible, but mostly heartbreaking situation".

DEMAR first became something of an internet sensation upon the release of a Kendrick Lamar cover in 2016. Praised for its smart acoustic pop arrangement, her rendition of “Swimming Pools” has so far garnered over 1.5 million views.

Now, the New York City-based alt-pop artist is gearing up to set her own music into the world with an upcoming EP. Entitled Rebels, the viral indie performer will be releasing the record on 20 October.

The latest single from off of Rebels, “Wild Ride”, is a sonic fire that, thematically, peers into an unhealthy relationship that pervades the entirety of the EP.

“‘Wild Ride’ kicks off the EP and explains the nature of the relationship that inspired these songs,” says DEMAR. “The push and pull and ups and downs of a sometimes incredible, but mostly heartbreaking situation, where I had to deal with loving a man who kept me around but didn’t love me in the same way.”
