Based in Catalonia, high on the Iberian Peninsula, Foscor will release its latest LP Les Irreals Visions June 9th via Season of Mist. The veteran act’s progressive tendencies and dark roots are evident throughout this chilling new video “Instants”, from the eerie, sparse guitar figures of the introduction to the blasts of black metal evident in the startling, propulsive drum work from the mysterious J.F.

Vocalist Fiar delivers an equally haunting and remarkable performance throughout as he weaves a tale the listener can only hope to one day unravel. Guitarists Falke (who is responsible for the video, culled from the group’s personal archives, with sea images from Iceland’s Nona Limmen) and A.M. create a hypnotic and spiritually charged bed of clashing, clanging sounds that unfold slowly over repeated listens. The music is at once foreboding and inviting, dissonant yet melodic and dark yet informed by light. Challenging, original and shaped by an intelligence and creativity that sets this collective apart, “Instants” provides the perfect introduction to Les Irreals Visions.

The accompanying video deepens the intensity and sense of the mysterious that has become synonymous with Foscor.

Commenting on the track the band offered this: “One of the most immense and intense tracks on our album, ‘Instants’ revolves around the concept how humans must turn all their moments to eternal, achieving reconciliation between the far beyond and the here. The course of history is always explained through big events and how they change the turning of the world. But here we praise the value of everyday life, which is shaped by a huge amount of small ordinary moments, which are affecting our behavior. If we don’t value those moments, we value nothing. Its magic explains how we are, and there’s no other intention behind this lyric video than to open the gates of your memories. Musically speaking, as the album’s opening track, it’s a declaration of intentions in itself. There are no boundaries in order to try to reach beauty in this dreamlike landscape.”

Foscor’s Les Irreals Visions is out June 9 and may be ordered here.
