Progressive bluegrass band Mountain Heart rove way beyond the confines of the bluegrass genre, adding a bit of soul ala the SteelDrivers and a bit of pure-bred country ala Chris Stapleton. In other words, we are talking about great Southern music here, underpinned with virtuosic musicianship full of heart and soul.

Mountain Heart will be releasing their latest album, Blue Skies on May 6th via Compass Records. The band has shuffled personnel in an effort to reinvent themselves adding Jeff Partin and Seth Taylor to the core of Josh Shilling and Aaron Ramsey. Mountain Heart also lucked out and snagged violinist and vocalist Molly Cherryholmes, from the Grammy-winning Cherryholmes shortly before the recording process began.

The band is now tighter than ever and we’re excited enough for Blue Skies that we are super proud to premiere the album’s first single, “Addicted”.
