New York City jazzman Sam Sadigursky brings forth the third volume of his acclaimed Words Project., a series of albums that marry the venerable saxophonist/composer’s twin loves for jazz and poetry. In addition to five tracks featuring Michael Leonhart on vocals, Words Project III: Miniatures also showcases a staggering array of other talent, including Monika Heidemann, Sunny Kim, Karlie Bruce and Christine Correa, interpreting the works of such literary greats as Emily Dickinson, Carl Sandburg, William Carlos Williams and Maxim Gorky. The poets are back by a lush fusion of chamber music and electronic sounds, which make this Miniatures edition of the Words Project by far Sadigursky’s most intriguing to date.
