The Fucking Wrath

Terra Fire

(Tee Pee; US: 19 Oct 2010; UK: 19 Oct 2010)

The popularity of Mastodon and High on Fire (among others) has quickly propelled the stoner metal world into the mainstream. Stoner-hardcore crossover groups influenced by these two bands have been popping up all over the place, and The Fucking Wrath is one such group. Hailing from California, this trio enlivens their metal with a hefty dose of traditional hardcore speed, drawing on Minor Threat and Black Flag for inspiration amidst the downtuned sludge that pervades the music of their peers. While the speed is a unique and diversifying element in their music, it also makes this EP feel a lot shorter than it actually is. Regardless, Terra Fire is a great introduction to The Fucking Wrath, a band with lots of potential for future success.
