If one is going to experiment, then you should at least get creative. Dismantle everybody’s preconceived ideas of music and go from there. Experiment for us! Don’t just lay down a few distorted beats occasionally jiggered with a random noise. This EP of sound collages by 3:33 is kind of like an attempt to live up to the album’s press release. “Spinning wild tales, opening trap doors, and shedding light into dark recesses of the soul…” it states, overselling the numbing beats and aimless sounds within by about a mile or two. EP-1 is just a 23-minute warm-up for the group, so perhaps they are saving their more rewarding material for a full-length release.
