Sigourney Reverb’s Bees in Your Bed boasts fourteen fast-and-catchy tracks that are more noise than nuance, but nevertheless capture your ear and imagination. “Who’s Yer Muse?” and “Are We in This Together?” are blasts of fury that ask age-old questions. “Everybody Wants to Be Alone” and “Student Loan Blues” offer observations other bands have been too afraid to make, while “Hell in a Hamburger” reminds us of life’s culinary delights. Occasionally reminiscent of the snottiest Replacements records and/or an especially harrowing speed bender, Bees in Your Bed comes from a time and a place before Vans Warped, Green Day, or Hot Topic. Thank God.
