A memorable powerpop 7" from an exciting new band.
The Mowgli’s aren’t hesitating to jump into the water, that much becomes abundantly clear with their San Francisco 7”, a studio debut that sets a very high standard for the Los Angeles seven-piece outfit. Kicking things into high gear immediately with the catchy opening title track, the band never once eases their foot off the accelerator and tears through all three tracks with joyfully reckless abandon. That “Slowly” can’t quite match up with “San Francisco” isn’t a surprise. However, that it comes as close as it does most certainly is. That “Slowly” nearly surpasses it secures this as a short-playing statement. The Mowgli’s are set to take over and we’ll all be better for it. This is joyous rock n’ roll at its absolute finest.
