New Beard

New Beard City

(Shoulder Tap; US: 26 Jun 2012; UK: 26 Jun 2012)

To try and label New Beard with a specific genre tag would be doing the band a disservice. There’s been no band I’ve come across in the past couple of years that’s been as musically diverse as New Beard is. More important than the sole aspect of diversity is the fact that the group is masterful at blending that diversity into something wonderfully unique, original, and strangely accessible. This project was born out of the ashes of Arizona, a band that many became familiar with due to touring behind the likes of Band of Horses and Dead Confederate. While Arizona weren’t anything to scoff at by any means, they weren’t as exciting as New Beard is turning out to be. The level of originality and passion that New Beard has on full display makes them a very easy band for me to get behind. I suggest you do the same.
