Carlos Niño & Friends’ Aquariusssssss is one of the most stunningly beautiful records to have been released in recent memory. For the record Carlos Niño enlisted the help of some high-profile electronic artists like Dntel, lasos, Build an Ark, and Daedalus. The end result is something that sounds beautiful and inspired, a beautifully expansive gorgeous ambient work. Everything on Aquariusssssss is glacially paced and lets itself unfold into something far more spectacular than it initially appears to be. There’s small twists that punctuate these moments of beauty, like the brief narration on “Listening to the Conversation of the Birds…”. This is a record that fully deserves the listeners time and attention and will reward both equally.
