Future Twin is a San Francisco band who are pulling from all of the right influences to create something that feels familiar yet unique enough to be compelling. There’s hints of 50’s and 60’s girl-group doo-wop and surf laced through these seven tracks. However, there’s also an unshakable punk aesthetic (which should be expected from anyone who lists Hickey as an influence). These songs are unabashedly bright and incredibly charming but sometimes they come off feeling as just a slight touch too bare. Yet, that sense that something’s missing only manages to make the songs more intriguing somehow. Future Twin Deluxe Edition may combine two official releases but it absolutely flies by and when it’s over it begs repeat listens. Watch for Future Twin to become a very big deal.
