A Million Things to Say

Get to know Brothertunes. Swiss radio already has, and declared the duo a top act and promising newcomer to the music scene in Switzerland. A Million Things to Say gives truth to the claim, for guitarist Philly Hansen and lead vocalist Rich Fonje are expert craftsmen of melodic hooks. The slinky, serpentine rhythm of “Go Faster” and wide-open space evoked by “95 Days” illustrate the duo’s impressive talent for steeping their songs in atmospheres wholly distinct from one another. Further expanding the album’s sonic landscape is the Midas touch of Van Hunt, who Hansen and Fonje enlisted to produce and play on seven of the album’s fourteen songs. The inspired partnership spawns some of the best material on the album, from the guitar-driven “Starship” to the string-punctuated cadence of “She Told Me So”. Long after the celestial fade of the closing title track, A Million Things to Say echoes sonorously in the mind.
