Toolroom Knights, Vol. 1

by Dan MacIntosh

26 July 2007

A disc offering two distinct sides of dance music

Toolroom Knights is a club dedicated to Toolroom Records and producer/DJ Mark Knight’s electronic dance sound. This two-CD set is broken down into one disc that features Martijn Ten Velden’s mixes, and the other made up of Paul Harris’ work. Martijn is from Haarlem, Holland, and he’s given great talent—such as Tracy Thorn on “Tiefschwarz”—to work with. Paul Harris is a Grammy Award-winning artist best known for his role in Dirty Vegas. This disc represents the music he has dedicated himself to since leaving Dirty Vegas in 2005. There’s plenty of music here, all nicely repetitive and danceable.
