Todd is an Adjunct Professor of English, Women's Studies and Human Sciences at the George Washington University, where he received his Ph.D. in the Program in the Human Sciences in May of 2001. His classes are regularly (some colleagues might say relentlessly) focused around popular culture analysis and cultural studies; some special topics have included, "Comic Books, American Culture and Social Change," "Youth Movies and Youth Cultures," "Queer Theory/Film Theory" and "'Pop Will Eat Itself': Globalization, Consumerism and Popular Culture." He has been a member of the PopMatters film and television crew since the very start of the magazine. His work has also appeared in GLQ: A Journal of Lesbian and Gay Studies and in the anthology Youthscapes, to be published in the Spring of 2005 by the University of Pennsylvania Press. Born and raised in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Todd has resided in the District of Columbia since 1992.
