Sherif Nagati was born in Cairo, Egypt. At an early age, he inexplicably became infatuated with comics, which was rather unfortunate since they were hard to get hold of in his hometown. Later, things got worse as he developed similar addictions to film and rock music. To support his expensive habits, he worked as an IT project manager, and spent the rest of his time consuming the objects of his desire and trying to get people who couldn't care less interested in them as well. Somehow, he ended up writing about them on PopMatters.
Recently, he moved to Grenoble in France, where there are many more comics and he makes more money to buy them with. He still spends a good deal of his time trying to turn on people who are slightly more interested to his tastes in comics, music and film. He also tries to spend time with his wonderful wife and son, Jehanne and Nadim.
His favorite things (even if you couldn't care less) are: music by Can, the Velvet Underground, the Pixies, the Smiths, the Fall, and many many more; films that range from the total trash of Takeshi Miike to the more respected works of Jarmush and Scorcese, and too many comics to mention here (although the works of Carlos Sampayo and Jose Munoz deserve a plug because they are criminally overlooked).
One day he hopes he will overcome his chronic laziness and actually produce a comic book.
