Stephen Rauch is the author of the book Neil Gaiman's "The Sandman" and Joseph Campbell: In Search of the Modern Myth, the first book-length criticism of Gaiman's work, and a forthcoming book on Garth Ennis' and Steve Dillon's Preacher and the Western in film and fiction. He earnestly believes that the study of popular culture can close the rift between academics and everyone else. Still, he realizes there are artists and there are critics, and has a sneaking suspicion that he's in the wrong band.
Stephen's interests include comics, fantasy, sci-fi, and horror fiction, religion and mythology, psychology, and pop music. Lately, he seems to have a pronounced soft spot for anarchist thought. His dream is to be able to write full-time. A graduate of Swarthmore College, he was born in South Florida in 1979, but currently resides in Philadelphia in an apartment with far too many books and comics and CDs, and is considering options for graduate school.
