A displaced native New Yorker, Adam Williams currently resides in scenic Southwestern Connecticut, where he stays busy as a freelance journalist and modest country squire. Raised on a steady diet of classic rock and creative writing as a wee lad, Adam has amassed a diverse portfolio of published work, including reviews, essays, satirical commentary, and publicity/promotional copy. His lifelong passion for the musical note and written word has shaped his writing style; Adam strives to incorporate the integrity of Dave Marsh, the enthusiasm of Cameron Crowe, and the wit of Dennis Miller into his projects at all times. Although his expertise lies in the area of unbridled sonic aggression, ala the Who and the MC5, Adam has no qualms about covering any musical genre, having penned pieces on acts from Motorhead to the Temptations. Whether offering praise or criticism, he is unapologetic about telling it like it is, and is pleased as the proverbial punch to have PopMatters as a creative outlet.
In addition to possessing reasonable spoken and written command of the King's English and a Master's Degree in Business Education from New York University, Adam is in the midst of a pair of ambitious literary projects: simultaneously drafting a screenplay and novel about the perils of rock and roll, and penning a tome on absurd pop cultural anomalies. If that wasn't sufficient resume fodder, he also boasts a tattoo collection that bridges the gap between the Chili Peppers and Motley Crue, and a wardrobe that would make Jimi Hendrix proud.
Whatever artistic pursuit he finds himself immersed in, Adam endeavors to kick out the jams with regularity.
