Any crap rapper can get a couple of musician buddies together and tout themselves as the next great hip-hop band. Such is definitely NOT the case, however, for Lazlo Supreme, a Minneapolis-based trio whose full-length debut, Evil Made Easy, is one of the most original and exciting albums to emerge from the rather arid hip-hop underground in quite some time. Backed solely by keyboardist Linden “Dr. Puddles” Killam and drummer Pat Moses, MC Toussaint Morrison spits witty schoolyard fire that will make any kid who grew up in the ‘80s yell, ‘Ohhhhh!’ atop of these awesomely skeletal beats that will remind hardcore hip-hop fans of Organix-era Roots or even the Brand New Heavies a la Heavy Rhyme Experience Vol. 1. Hey Slug, hope you are listening, because these hometown boys are prime candidates for a spot on the Rhymesayers roster.
