In September, North Carolina’s Schooner released Neighborhood Veins, an album we claims was a “gauzy, blown-out, beautiful pop record” and a “crowning achievement” for the band. One of the catchiest moments on that record is “Feel Better”, a bouncy power-pop tune writ large by thick layers of instrumentation and Reid Johnson’s wide-open, honeyed vocals. The video, crafted by multimedia artist Julianna Thomas, is just as charming and off-kilter. It tells a bittersweet and funny story about the ways we isolate ourselves, from virtual dating to literal disguises. Check it out below.
