90 Minute Review of “Attack of the Clones” (video)

Hopefully the title didn’t scare everyone away, because this is a lot more entertaining than it sounds.

In the past, the Milwaukee production company Red Letter Media gained some attention with ridiculously in depth video reviews of such films as Star Wars: The Phantom Menace and Avatar, and now it’s back with a take on Star Wars: Attack of the Clones.

The reviewer talks in nasally, sarcastic, tone, but his disparaging hostility towards the movies he reviews never gets grating (especially if you agree with him.) Although most people have a general idea why the Star Wars prequel films were less than stellar, this reviewer breaks it down to a science while remaining entertaining through out.

He makes some interesting observations that are infinitely more insightful than the average internet flame war, like how since there’s no fish-out-of-water character the principles need to explain the plot to, the audience is often left in the dark. Check it out in parts if you don’t have time, it’s fascinating to anyone who is a Star Wars fan, or just good film making in general.
