The stunning Milla Jovovich returns as “Alice” in Resident Evil: Afterlife, director Paul W.S. Anderson’s fourth film based on the popular survival-horror gaming franchise, and the first in 3D. This seems a bit odd, as rumors indicated that the next entry in the franchise would be a reboot.
Fans of the series, however, should find it welcome. While never the most innovative or popular franchise, the Resident Evil series delivered gory thrills and breathtaking visuals. They’re fun flicks that don’t have much to say, but hardly need to. Just keep churning out sequences like this, and I’ll keep coming back:
