YellowFever: YellowFever

“Why don’t you realize how psychedelic I am and love me”, sings Jennifer Moore of Austin’s YellowFever on their eponymous debut LP. It’s just one of the many nonlinear musings of this Texas twosome, rounded out by multi-instrumentalist Adam Jones across a scant 29 minutes of pure minimalist pop bliss in the vein of Young Marble Giants and early Stereolab. Recorded with Bill Callahan drummer Luis Martinez and released on the Vivian Girls’ Wild World label, Yellow Fever is an odd beauty of an album that is equal parts quaint and DIY, as sweet as it is short, and a promising sign for things to come from this up and coming underground set.
