Wilco Starts New Record Label, Not Called “Wilco (The Label)”

As Wilco guitarist Nels Cline hinted at last summer, Wilco has announced the launch its own record label, dBpm (decibels per minute) Records. The label will be run by Wilco manager Tony Margherita, with distribution handled by ANTI- Records, who put out Mavis Staples’ Jeff Tweedy-produced record, You Are Not Alone, this past September. The first release from the label will be the new Wilco album, currently slated for late-2011.

In other Wilco-related news, the band will once again be curating the Solid Sound Festival from June 24-26 in North Adams, Massachusetts at the Museum of Contemporary Art. Return Trip passes have already sold out, so get a move on if you’re thinking of attending!
