The late ’70s/early ’80s was a time that saw rock ‘n’ roll get louder, faster and weirder in the advent of punk and new wave. However, such seismic sea changes on the college and commercial radio charts had little to no effect on the music of the New Hampshire duo of Dan Severance and Gary Cassidy, whose brand of mellow Northeastern folk-rock had more in common with Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young and America than Talking Heads and The Cars.

The pair’s eponymous private press debut from 1978 saw the combination of Gary’s sturdy aptitude on the bass and country music background and Dan’s velvety acoustic licks and penchant for AM pop harmonies coalesce into a beguiling treasure that has been given a formidable second life courtesy of the Riverman Music label. Find out what the New Hampshire/Vermont area has enjoyed for nearly 35 years on this excellent reissue.
