This is the second effort from Tamara Lindeman, a singer-songwriter based in Toronto, Ontario and a sometime member of the band the Bruce Peninsula. The retro cover, for once, isn’t merely hipster homage — this really could be an album cut more than 35 years ago, one that’s on par with “lost” artists such as Vashti Bunyan and Karen Dalton. Lindeman, of course, is her own woman, something she demonstrates via “Traveler”, “Everything I Saw”, and “Yarrow and Mint”. At 28 minutes, this may be a sliver of an album, but it’s still a damned fine sliver to have and a genuine folk album from an artist who seems capable and comfortable working in just about any musical idiom she wants.
