White Rainbow: The Making of Thriller

Morgan Troper

Both of these tracks have more in common with their namesake than Forkner probably intended -- they're largely spiritless and unmemorable.

The two songs on this cheekily-titled seven inch from White Rainbow (ubiquitous NW producer/ambient artist Adam Forkner's pseudonym) are about as innocuous as their titles suggest, and enforce the stereotype that electronic music can be made by anybody (with a computer). There isn't a grain of unpredictability during the song's a-side and title track, but things do pick up slightly during the b-side "The Making of Star Wars", precisely due to its unprecedented utilization of harmonica (likely a first or at least a second in electronic music). But both of these tracks have more in common with their namesake than Forkner probably intended -- they're largely spiritless and unmemorable.
