Caitlin Cary and Shirlette Ammons – “My Body Politic” (MP3) (Premiere)

Gerrymandered districts have resulted in far right Republican majorities in many communities around the nation. In North Carolina, the “artificial” districts designed to produce Republican majorities have had a devastating effect on public education, voter rights, medicare expansion, and access to women’s healthcare and abortion facilities.

North Carolina artists are standing up in protest of these curtailments of human rights. Dubbing themselves the North Carolina Music Love Army, these musicians have gathered together to produce a new album of protest music to benefit Progress NC and Planned Parenthood of Central North Carolina. We Are Not For Sale: Songs of Protest releases next Tuesday and we heartily encourage all of our readers to help support this worthy cause by checking out the premiere of “My Body Politic” by Carolina’s very own Caitlin Cary and Shirlette Ammons, and then purchasing the record next week.
