The Henry Girls present their blend of Irish roots and Americana on Louder Than Words, which pairs the sisters' and producer Calum Malcolm's ideas and results in a record that blends different sounds, influences, and goals. The voices and arrangements unite the Irish and American, sometimes roots rock-y ("James Monroe"), sometimes with hints of contemporary country ("Maybe", "No Matter What You Say").

There's a sweetness to the album, from the swinging fiddle of "The Weather", to the '30s vibe of "So Long But Not Goodbye". Thematically, they deal with life, love and the continuity of the spirit. Springsteen's "Reason to Believe" resounds around resonator guitar and percussion, and the group's harmonies come into their own when teamed with the Inishowen Gospel Choir. A record of family and togetherness, uplifting as well as contemplative, Louder Than Words is a skillful selection that will continue the Girls' international success.
