Dear Frederic - "Stare Into the Light and Dana" (video) (Premiere)

Dear Frederic's latest music video combines the songs "Stare Into the Light" and "Dana" into a single, slow-mo heavy short film.

Displaying the haunting vagaries of Lars von Trier and the metaphysical slow-mo that Terrence Malick is so well known for, "Stare Into the Light and Dana", the two-track music video by Montreal electronic musician Dear Frederic, is a seven-minute emotional whirlwind. The video, directed by the Quebec-based Natali Film, brings out the moodiness that underlies Dear Frederic's music. Both "Stare Into the Light" and "Dana" can be found on Dear Frederic's newest release, Outlast EP.

Dear Frederic says of the songs, "'Stare Into the Light' and 'Dana' are about seclusion and fraternal love. I was lost deep in the Eastern Townships of Canada writing those songs, and at times, at nightfall, I could see UFOs from my cabin. They might have been the real deal—or maybe it's just the result of my obsession with Dana Scully from The X-Files. Either way, it's all in the songs."

Dear Frederic's Outlast EP is out now via Cult Nation.
