Eyelids - "Psych #1" (video) (Premiere)

Northwest band Eyelids, with members of Guided By Voices and the Decemberists, deliver another sweet slice of bittersweet pop bliss on "Psych #1"

Northwest psych-rock group Eyelids has players from Guided By Voices, Stephen Malkmus and the Jicks, and the Decemberists (among others), but on the band's first full-length, 854, Eyelids isn't leaning on any past connections. This is the band's own vital, infectious brand of hazy power-pop, and nowhere does it deliver the dose with as much potency as on lead single "Psych #1".

The video for the track turns the song's gauzy layers into a feast of visual textures. It runs down more than one rabbit hole here, and yet there's a sweetness to all this chaos, a sense of discovery. It's another mind-bending video from Eyelids, and another great pop song. Check out the video here, and get 854 when it's out October 14 via Jealous Butcher. Also catch them on the West Coast this fall.

For All Governments: Gendry-Kim's Graphic Novel, 'Grass'

The powerful graphic novel Grass documents the atrocities against WWII "comfort women" through the recollections of a survivor. This is an incredibly powerful and urgent work that, frankly, should be read by the governments of all nations that must face, admit to, and begin real reparations for their country's atrocities.
