Loose Buttons – “Two Wolves” (video) (Premiere)

Loose Buttons draw some aesthetic inspiration from the likes of Wes Anderson for their latest video, "Two Wolves".

The NYC-based indie rockers Loose Buttons are already gearing up to have a busy fall. This week alone the group has four dates at the popular CMJ festival, following the release of its most recent EP, Damage Gallery. One of the catchier tunes off of that release, “Two Wolves” (which premiered in June at Paste), now has a video, helmed by Frankie Fortunato & Justin Frabasile. The video’s playful and eccentric nature is not unlike Wes Anderson, whose famed yellow typefont is emulated in the lyric and title cues.

Loose Buttons had this to say about the music video for “Two Wolves”: “At the end of the day, ‘Two Wolves’ is really about the crazy things you do growing up and the people you do them with. It’s a light-hearted track about being young and figuring yourself out and we wanted the video to reflect that. We actually shot the whole thing in just a day and we had one of our best childhood friends direct it. A good chunk of the video was also shot in our bass player’s childhood house, where we had some of our first practices years ago. That definitely helped us keep everything light and fun, and ultimately to get the mood of the song across on screen in the most genuine way possible. ‘Two Wolves’ is really the backbone of Damage Gallery, so it was really important for us that the video came out the way we envisioned it. Ultimately, it feels great to say that we’re all really proud of the end result.”

Damage Gallery EP is out now via Moon Crawl.
