Martin Sexton - "You (My Mind is Woo)" (audio) (Premiere)

The latest tune by the New York singer/songwriter is an affable, voice-and-guitar tune that captures what Sexton calls "the twilight of the mind".

Syracuse, New York singer/songwriter Martin Sexton is going to release his eighth studio record, Mixtape of the Open Road, this winter. You've already heard the lead single "Remember That Ride", which premiered on Wall Street Journal online; now you can stream the wistful number "You (My Mind is Woo)" below.

Sexton tells PopMatters about the track, "There's a brief magic time between day and night. Our minds have a similar twilight, that dusk and dawn, where intuition -- not intellect -- kicks in. I find this is where our true voices live. So, when I say 'my mind is woo' that's what I mean, and the 'You' is anyone, anything, or anyplace you long for".

Mixtape of the Open Road is out on 10 February via KTR/Redeye.

'Tag' Is Not It

Jeff Tomsic's Tag is a missed opportunity to show that not all masculinity is toxic, even if it refuses to leave the playground.
