While other singer/songwriters opt to elevate their hipness factor by taking dusty roads of self-despair, Seth Glier abstains from pretense and offers instead an album filled unbridled pop perfection. Percolating rhythms and cheery sentiments dominate the proceedings, ensuring radio readiness every step of the way. Indeed, when Glier gets in his groove on songs such as “Proof”, “Electricity” and “Love Is a Language”, the tone is especially infectious. Nevertheless, the stoic sentiments purveyed through “If I Could Change One Thing” and “You Wear It Well” helps temper the mood and make the music all the more accessible. The prerequisite big ballad, “Lift You Up”, offers affirmation and inspiration, reinforcing the positive stance Glier furthers throughout. There’s nothing particularly earth-shattering here and Glier never pushes any parameters, but his pop perspective is focused and finessed throughout.
