'Capturing the White Buffalo: The Recording of an American Songwriter', Part Two (video) (premiere)
Singer-songwriter Jake Smith guides viewers through the songwriting process of his fifth album, Love & the Death of Damnation.
If you were a regular viewer of TV series Sons of Anarchy, you’re probably familiar with Jake Smith, who as his musical pseudonym the White Buffalo, has contributed several of his gritty, minimalist, Americana/folk songs to the show’s soundtrack over the years. Smith is also an accomplished singer-songwriter on his own, with four albums under his belt, and a fifth, Love & the Death of Damnation due later this summer.
In anticipation for the record, Ernie Ball has sponsored a ten-part documentary called Capturing the White Buffalo: The Recording of an American Songwriter. Part one premiered last week (watch it here), and today we’re very pleased to present part two, which focuses on Smith’s songwriting process. It’s an intimate look at a talented musician and very likeable guy, and well worth watching. Be sure to catch the next eight episodes at ernieball.com/whitebuffalo
Love & the Death of Damnation will be released 21 August on Unison Music Group.
