Chase Coy – ‘Youth’ (album stream)

At 24, Chase Coy already has a wealth of music under his belt, not to mention a large online following, and the Nashville-based, Indiana-raised singer-songwriter has just released his fifth full-length album Youth. A combination of Americana influences and more modern pop touches, combined with his gentle tenor voice, it’s not a big surprise that he’s been able to attract the audience he has, and with this record it can only grow.

“I felt it was time for a change, and that was partially fueled by the fact that I was changing things in my personal life,” he says. “This album chronicles the split from a relationship that had become poisonous, and eventually finding a new love that eclipses everything else before it. I’m lucky enough to have that narrative for the last few years of my life, and I’m glad it’s ending on a happy note and not on a sad one. I hope people can take that sense of optimism and second chances from this record. The songs really grapple with that struggle to move on from the past, while learning from it and using it to help plot the future.”
