Dead Rock West – “The Price of Love” (video) (premiere)

The new video by the California duo is a live rendition of an Everly Brothers classic.

Cindy Wasserman and Frank Lee Drennan, also known as Dead Rock West, recently put out the album It’s Everly Time!, a 13-song tribute to the Everly Brothers. Featuring an array of standards and underrated tracks, their latest single is their cover of the 1965 song “The Price of Love, which has been re-recorded live for their new video for the track.

“This is an alternate live version of ‘The Price of Love’ that also appears on our new record,” Drennan says. “It was recorded and filmed at legendary East West Studios in Los Angeles where the Everlys themselves once recorded and features Dave Alvin and Elliot Easton on guitars. It was written by Don and Phil, originally released in 1965. I love this tune; to me it’s pretty much as good as it gets as far as songwriting goes and I’m very happy to have gotten the chance to record with such a great group of musicians. I hope you like it as much as I do!”

It’s Everly Time! is out now. Purchase the album here.
