Michigan duo IAMDYNAMITE will release their new album Wasa Tusa this week, and the new track “Liz”, which you can stream below, is a terrific indication of what you can expect. A taut and very catchy mix of 1980s blue-eyed soul and especially early Police, it’s a brisk track that burns brightly for its entire two and a half minutes.
“Liz is one of the first songs we wrote for this new album,” says drummer/singer Chris Phillips. “It’s taken many forms but the big boisterous drums and the dancy chorus is something that we are super proud of. We actually called it ‘Liz’ because a fan at a show asked us to name a song after her. We thought that would be cooler than calling it dance pants. It’s one of the more up-tempo songs on Was a Tusa and we already know it’s going to be a favorite when we play it live.”
Wasa Tusa will be released 7 August. Pre-order it here, and be sure to catch IAMDYNAMITE on tour:
